My shoulder and neck pain has been getting increasingly more painful and tight the past few days. Stupid injuries from the car accident that was almost exactly four years ago. Tonight I have been laying on the exercise ball allowing my back to arch and my arms to fall on either side of me near shoulder level. The muscles are so tight that movement like that hurts even more but if I take deep breathes as I allow the weight of my arms and gravity do its own thing. It is weird to notice the difference in which shoulder is more frozen. Judging by when I do lay down how close to the ground each arm will go when in the same extended position.
Currently waiting for the Dixie cups filled with water to freeze. Right before I go to bed tonight, if any are frozen enough, I will have my man rub me down. Not in a sexual way. We get a towel, double it up, lay me on my stomach and he tears the rim of the cup low enough to expose the ice and viciously rubs around my upper back, neck and shoulder area. The third consecutive morning waking up with my lumbar area locked and frozen causing me to walk with my head near my knees or crawling. My body will start shaking and I end up on the floor. I can sit on the couch, hunched over and breathe slowly and deeply to help relax. I currently have a heat pack against my back and when I am up to deal with the excruciating pain, I will switch it out with an ice pack. Too bad my painkillers are not easing any of this, let alone killing.
What blows even more is this is the second morning I have missed my morning classes for school. Yesterday I missed my electronic medical billing and coding class. Our instructor had cancelled last Wednesdays class. I have not been for a whole week now and attendance is critical when it is lab only. I sat around icing/heating and stretching my lower back and quad muscles so I could make it to my English class. That class I have missed 10 times already. Blah. I know I should not be complaining about the heat here in the Pacific North West because we hardly get any nice days like this in the summer but, fuck. The humidity level is 63%, which is lower than normal for this area. I prefer dry heat over humid heat any day. Granted, when it gets into the 100*s-120*s in places it does not matter what the humidity is or is not. That is why I would never live in Arizona or Texas.
I registered for school and paid for the classes. Hopefully I will be reimbursed a little bit at the end of the quarter with a financial grant. I will be taking English 100 and Intro to Business Computing. For being in the generation that learned the new computers, I failed to pay attention during the learning process of Excel, Access and other Microsoft programs that are extremely useful in the business world. Especially since I want to get out of retail and the food industry. If I were able to get a job serving, I would not complain as much because I would at least be able to receive tips with my wage.
